President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the efforts of Nigeria’s security agencies following the successful rescue of 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, and the recovery of 51 missing students from a Catholic school in Niger State.

In a statement on Sunday, the President said he cancelled his planned trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally coordinate national security operations in the wake of recent attacks.

Tinubu said the rescue operations were the result of “days of sustained pressure” by security operatives on criminal elements across the affected regions, noting that he is receiving “continuous updates from the frontline.”

“Let me be clear: I will not relent,” the President said. “Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people.”

While commending the security forces for what he described as “courageous and professional work,” President Tinubu assured citizens that the Federal Government remains fully committed to restoring peace and stability nationwide.

The President reaffirmed that the search continues for individuals still in captivity in Niger and other parts of the country, emphasizing that his administration will not tolerate threats to the safety of Nigerians.
